Theoretic Approaches
I have training and experience in several therapeutic modalities. I often use an eclectic approach as it suits the needs of individual clients. Yet, I most often use and draw from the following modalities:
CBT - Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
An evidence-based approach used to address symptoms of anxiety, depression, negative thought patterns, and more.
SFBT - Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
A short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
A behavioural intervention used to help people to live life more fully in the present, to become more aware of what truly matters in their lives, and to become less entangled in painful thoughts, feelings, and experiences that often leave people feeling stuck, frustrated, and suffering.
CPS - Collaborative Problem Solving
Method parents and caregivers can learn to help children solve problems and learn skills.
Triple P Parenting
Teaches parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behaviour and prevent problems from developing.
DBT - Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
An evidenced-based therapy that can help individuals better regulate and tolerate intense emotions so we can improve the relationships in our life that matter most. Through acceptance, non-judgement and mindfulness we can find practical skills to help reduce suffering and make life worth living.
